Steps

Support

Knees, shins, and tops of feet; forehead and palms supported.

Enter

  1. Sit on your heels with your big toes touching.
  2. Separate your knees to approximately hip width.
  3. Exhale and fold your torso between your thighs.
  4. Reach your arms forward, palms resting on the floor.
  5. Rest your forehead on the floor or a block.

Hold

  1. Keep your buttocks on your heels or a blanket.
  2. Lengthen your sides toward your hands without lifting your pelvis.
  3. Keep your elbows straight.
  4. Let your abdomen soften and your neck relax.

Exit

  1. Press your hands down and slowly sit up as you inhale.
Breathing
Breathe normally; observe your posterior ribs.
Gaze
Toward the floor, with your forehead supported.
