Steps

Support

Both palms and fingers; head and feet unsupported.

Enter

  1. From Downward Dog, place your hands near a wall.
  2. Set your hands shoulder-width apart; spread your fingers.
  3. Walk closer and bring your shoulders over your wrists.
  4. Exhale; kick one leg up, then the other.
  5. Join your legs; move your heels off the wall when balanced.

Hold

  1. Press the floor away, lifting your torso between your arms.
  2. Keep your arms and knees straight, with your legs together.
  3. Draw your lower ribs inward without exaggerating your lower-back arch.
  4. Keep your ankles neutral, without pointing your toes.

Exit

  1. Lower one leg, then the other, with control.
Breathing
Breathe normally, without holding your breath.
Gaze
Between your hands, with slight neck extension.
Duration
5–8 breaths.
