Steps

Support

Mainly shoulders and arms; toes and head also contact the floor.

Enter

  1. Lie with shoulders on firm blankets and head on the floor.
  2. Raise both legs together; press your arms down and lift pelvis.
  3. Support your back; exhale and lower your legs behind your head.
  4. Rest your toes without forcing; keep your knees straight.
  5. Extend your arms along the floor and interlace your fingers.

Hold

  1. Press shoulders and arms down; lift your torso.
  2. Keep your legs together and straight.
  3. Maintain space between your neck and the floor.
  4. Keep your head still.

Exit

  1. Unclasp your hands; ground your arms and palms.
  2. Slowly lower your back and pelvis, then your legs.
  3. Rest lying on your back.
Breathing
Breathe normally while holding the pose.
Gaze
Gaze toward the ceiling without turning your head.

1–5 minutes in your attainable position.
