Steps

Support

Knees, shins, tops of feet, elbows, and forearms; hands grasping feet.

Enter

  1. Kneel with your knees and feet hip-width apart.
  2. Lift your chest and reach your arms overhead.
  3. Exhale, arch backward, and place your palms behind your feet.
  4. Walk your hands around the outside of your feet; grasp them.
  5. Bend your elbows and ground your elbows and forearms.

Hold

  1. Keep your thighs as vertical as possible.
  2. Press your shins and forearms into the floor.
  3. Keep your abdomen engaged and lift your sternum.
  4. Keep your elbows shoulder-width apart.

Exit

  1. Release your feet and place your palms on the floor.
  2. Inhale, press legs down, raise torso; lift your head last.
  3. Rest in Child’s Pose for a few breaths.
