Steps

Support

Forearms and legs; buttocks on hands; head barely resting.

Enter

  1. Lie on your back with knees bent and feet grounded.
  2. Slide your hands beneath your buttocks, palms facing down.
  3. Draw elbows inward; inhale and lift your chest.
  4. Tip your head back; rest it lightly, keeping your chest lifted.
  5. Extend both legs together and reach forward through your heels.

Hold

  1. Press down through your forearms and keep your breastbone lifted.
  2. Keep your thighs active and legs grounded.
  3. Rest very little weight on your head.
  4. Soften your throat and jaw.

Exit

  1. Press your elbows down and lift your head.
  2. Exhale; lower your back and head to the floor.
  3. Slide your hands out from beneath your buttocks.
Breathing
Inhale as you lift your chest; breathe smoothly while holding.
Gaze
You may close your eyes.
