Steps

Support

Standing foot and opposite fingertips; your other leg remains lifted.

Enter

  1. From a right lunge, place your hands ahead of your right foot.
  2. Inhale, shift forward, and lift your left leg horizontally.
  3. Straighten your right leg; bring your right hand to your hip.
  4. Lengthen your spine; exhale and rotate your chest to the right.
  5. Raise your right arm, aligning it above your left shoulder.

Hold

  1. Keep your pelvis level and your lifted toes pointing down.
  2. Reach your left heel back and the crown of your head forward.
  3. Keep your lifted leg at hip height.
  4. Keep your upper arm in the plane of your shoulders.

Exit

  1. Return your right hand to your hip; bend your right knee.
  2. Lower your left foot; return to your lunge.
  3. Repeat on the other side, switching legs and arms.
Breathing
Inhale to lengthen; exhale to twist.
Gaze
Toward your upper hand.
Duration
5–10 breaths per side.
