Steps

Support

Right sole; left knee, shin, and instep.

Enter

  1. Step your right foot forward; ground your left knee and instep.
  2. Stack your right knee over your ankle; inhale and lengthen.
  3. Lean forward; exhale and rotate your ribs to the right.
  4. Wrap your left arm outside and underneath your right thigh.
  5. Reach your right arm behind; clasp hands around your thigh.

Hold

  1. Keep your right sole and back leg grounded.
  2. Maintain your spine's natural curves and a broad chest.
  3. Draw your left shoulder blade toward your ribs without shrugging.

Exit

  1. Exhale, release the bind, and place hands beside your front foot.
  2. Untwist; return to Downward-Facing Dog.
  3. Repeat on the other side, switching legs and arms.
Breathing
Inhale to lengthen; exhale to twist. Breathe continuously.
Gaze
Upward, following the twist.
