Steps

Support

Pelvis and legs; lower elbow on the floor or a prop.

Enter

  1. Sit down; spread your legs with your knees extended.
  2. Lean sideways toward one leg, shifting your pelvic support slightly forward.
  3. Rest your lower elbow on the floor or a cushion.
  4. Rest your head in that hand and keep the sideways bend.
  5. Arc your upper arm overhead.

Hold

  1. Keep your legs passive and your pelvis supported.
  2. Let the prop receive some of your torso's weight.
  3. Keep your upper arm within a comfortable reach.
  4. Remain still, without seeking your deepest bend.

Exit

  1. Lower your upper arm; slowly return to center with support.
  2. Repeat toward the other leg.
  3. Place hands behind you; engage your legs and bring them together slowly.
Breathing
Breathe gently without holding your breath.
Gaze
Close your eyes if comfortable.

4 minutes per side.
