Steps

Support

Head, shoulders, and back on the mat; arms supporting the legs.

Enter

  1. Lie on your back with your legs extended.
  2. Exhale and draw both knees toward your chest.
  3. Interlace your fingers over your shins, just below your knees.
  4. Keep your legs parallel without crossing your shins.

Hold

  1. Rest your head and shoulders on the mat.
  2. Bring your lower back toward the mat.
  3. Relax your legs while your arms maintain the hug.

Exit

  1. Release your grip.
  2. Slowly extend your legs and rest on your back.
Breathing
Exhale as you draw your knees in; then breathe continuously.
Gaze
Toward the ceiling.

5–10 breaths.
