Steps

Support

Both palms and soles of the feet; pelvis and torso lifted.

Enter

  1. Sit with your legs straight and together.
  2. Place palms behind your hips, fingers pointing toward your feet.
  3. Point your feet and turn your thighs inward.
  4. Inhale, press your hands down, and lift your pelvis.
  5. Lift your chest first; then gently extend your neck.

Hold

  1. Press your palms and soles into the floor.
  2. Keep your arms vertical and your chest lifted.
  3. Turn your thighs inward and keep your legs together.
  4. Lift your pelvis without concentrating the arch in your lower back.

Exit

  1. Gently tuck your chin.
  2. Exhale and slowly lower your pelvis until you are seated.
Breathing
Inhale to lift your pelvis; breathe regularly; exhale to lower.
Gaze
Upward and backward.
