Steps

Support

Both feet and the hand opposite the front foot, supported beside it.

Enter

  1. Step your feet about a meter apart, with heels aligned.
  2. Turn your right foot 90°; turn your left foot 45° inward.
  3. Face your pelvis toward your right foot; inhale and lengthen.
  4. Exhale, hinge at your hips; left hand outside your right foot.
  5. Rotate your chest right; raise your right arm.

Hold

  1. Press through both feet; keep your rear heel grounded.
  2. Keep your legs active and your front sitting bone drawing back.
  3. Lengthen your spine; stack your upper shoulder over your lower shoulder.
  4. Extend your arms in one vertical line.

Exit

  1. Exhale; lower your upper arm and release the twist.
  2. Inhale and lift your torso, with your hands on your hips.
  3. Repeat on the other side, switching feet and arms.
Breathing
Inhale to lengthen; exhale to twist. Breathe continuously.
Gaze
Toward your upper hand; alternatively, look forward.
