Steps

Support

Sitting bones and forehead grounded; clasped hands unsupported by the floor.

Enter

  1. Sit in Staff Pose with your legs extended.
  2. Bend one knee and place the foot behind your head.
  3. Repeat with the other leg and cross your ankles.
  4. Exhale and fold forward, gently grounding your forehead.
  5. Slide your arms under your legs; clasp your hands behind you.

Hold

  1. Keep both sitting bones grounded.
  2. Keep your shoulders away from your ears.
  3. Let your abdomen remain available for breathing.
  4. Alternate the upper ankle on your next repetition.

Exit

  1. Release your hands and place them on the floor.
  2. Inhale and lift your torso with support from your hands.
  3. Uncross and release your legs; return to Staff Pose.
Breathing
Exhale when folding; breathe naturally while holding the pose.
Gaze
Gaze toward the floor.
