Steps

Support

Both feet on the floor; hands supported on the thighs.

Hold

  1. Keep your abdomen relaxed during the vacuum.
  2. Maintain chest expansion and support through your hands.
  3. Keep your back long.

Activate

  1. Inhale deeply through your nose.
  2. Exhale completely through your mouth and hold after exhaling.
  3. Bring your chin toward your chest.
  4. With your glottis closed, expand your chest; keep your abdomen relaxed.

Release

  1. Release the vacuum; let your abdomen move forward again.
  2. Raise your head and trunk; exhale slightly before inhaling.
  3. Inhale slowly through your nose; return to natural breathing.
Breathing
Bāhya kumbhaka: hold after exhaling; release before inhaling.
Gaze
Downward.

For a comfortable breath hold, without straining.
