Steps

Support

Back resting on the floor; legs held by the bind.

Enter

  1. Sit in lotus, with each foot on the opposite thigh.
  2. Thread your arms between thighs and calves until your elbows emerge.
  3. Bend your elbows and draw your lotus toward your torso.
  4. Bring your hands behind your neck, keeping your arms threaded.
  5. Recline with control until your back rests on the floor.

Hold

  1. Keep your feet on your thighs and your lotus drawn in.
  2. Keep your elbows bent and your arms within the bind.
  3. Rest your back; keep your hands behind your neck.
  4. Engage your feet without letting your ankles roll inward.

Exit

  1. Move your hands away from your neck and unthread your arms.
  2. Release your lotus and extend your legs along the floor.
  3. Repeat with the opposite leg crossing.

Ear-holding variation: normal breathing.
