Steps

Support

Both palms and fingers; head and forearms lifted.

Enter

  1. From Downward-Facing Dog, place your hands shoulder-width apart.
  2. Enter Handstand and establish your balance before arching.
  3. Exhale, lift your chest, and bend your knees.
  4. Bring your feet toward your head as you extend your spine.
  5. Keep your legs together and point your toes.

Hold

  1. Press through your palms and fingers; keep your elbows straight.
  2. Keep your chest open and your head off the floor.
  3. Keep your legs together, with your feet toward your head.
  4. Control the arch with your abdomen; also extend your upper back.

Exit

  1. Exhale and lower your feet behind you into Wheel Pose.
  2. Lower your back to the floor; bring your knees toward your chest.
Breathing
Exhale as you arch; keep breathing while holding.
Gaze
Forward, with your head lifted.
Duration
3–5 breaths.
