Vinyala's pose transition engine decides not just where your body goes between two postures — the +400 postures in our bank are posed bone by bone by humans, and that geometry is never guessed — but when: when weight shifts from one foot to the other, when a free foot lifts off the floor, how the pelvis travels while it happens. That timing model is informed by real human-movement recordings and by published biomechanics research, not by video. This page credits every source, in the way each one asks.
We do not redistribute any of the original recordings below: we measured them offline and folded a small set of derived timing curves into the app. None of these organizations endorses Vinyala or reviewed how we use their data.

Modified: we derived timing curves — when weight transfers, when a foot lifts, how the pelvis moves — from a subset of recordings. We do not redistribute the original motion-capture files.

Modified: we derived timing curves — the same three signals as above — from a subset of the published BVH recordings. We do not redistribute the original files.

The same timing model is checked against peer-reviewed research on human gait, weight transfer and postural transitions. None of these publications requires attribution in-product; we name the practice here for transparency and keep the full bibliography, with sources cited, in our engineering documentation.
